2026 will mark our 80th Anniversary!
In celebration of the Huntington Community Band’s 80th Anniversary, we want to commission new music by local composers to celebrate our the anniversary and to honor Heckscher Park.
Heckscher Park is part of our origin story. In 1942, the Huntington Community Band gave their first concert in Heckscher Park on the steps of the Museum and they have continued to perform in the park for the past 79 years. It is our hope that these commissions will be a lasting tribute to our beautiful park and will be premiered at the Summer Arts Festival in July, 2026. This project will celebrate our community’s cultural life and create a memorable event for residents. We are asking for donations to help fund our project, which as an estimated cost of $3,500. Every contribution, no matter the amount will help us reach our goal.
